Dar Awil is committed to protecting the privacy of its visitors and guests. This policy details the data we collect, how it is used, and your rights, in accordance with Moroccan law 09-08 on the protection of personal data, and with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applicable to residents of the European Union.

Data Collected

  • Booking data (name, email, phone, stay dates) — necessary for processing your stay.
  • No banking data is collected by the website: a 30% deposit is requested on confirmation (bank transfer or cash), the balance is settled on-site upon departure from the riad.
  • Anonymized browsing statistics via Plausible Analytics (no third-party cookies, no profiling, no individual identification).
  • Contact form data (name, email, message) — used solely to respond to your enquiry.

Data Processors

To manage bookings and room availability, we use Smoobu (Smoobu GmbH, Grünauer Str. 5, 12557 Berlin, Germany). When you complete a booking from our site, your data is transmitted to Smoobu via an integrated booking module. Smoobu acts as a data processor and applies its own GDPR compliance and security measures. For contact email delivery, we use Resend (Resend Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA).

Data Retention

Booking data: 5 years for accounting and tax purposes, in accordance with Moroccan legal obligations. Contact form data: 1 year. Anonymized statistics: kept indefinitely (no personal data).

Your Rights

In accordance with Moroccan law 09-08 and the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, and object to your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact contact@dar-awil.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Commission Nationale de contrôle de la Protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP, Morocco — www.cndp.ma) or, for EU residents, with the supervisory authority in your country (in France: CNIL — www.cnil.fr).

Cookies

This website uses only essential technical cookies necessary for functionality (session, language preferences). No advertising, tracking or profiling cookies are used. The analytics tool Plausible Analytics operates without cookies.

International Data Transfers

Some processors (Resend, Vercel) are based in the United States. Such transfers take place under appropriate safeguards (European Commission standard contractual clauses or equivalent). Smoobu is based in Germany (EU) — no transfers outside the EU for booking data.
